Currently Education Officer
Why do you want to do this role?
Hello everyone, I am eager to run again for the role of student officer this year. Drawing on my experiences as both an education officer and a student here, I am well-prepared to amplify your voices and enhance your university experience. This position offers a unique opportunity to channel student concerns effectively and advocate for meaningful changes
Why should students vote for you?
Over the past year, my tenure as Education Officer has provided me with invaluable insights into the operational aspects of our university and a deeper understanding of student needs. My experiences have equipped me with the perspective needed to prioritize and address the most pressing issues. We are a diverse student body facing unique challenges, and my goal is to ensure that every student feels heard and represented.
If I get re-elected I will use the opportunity to lobby for meaningful changes across the university and will be always in the forefront to defend student rights both internally and externally
With your support, I believe we can drive real change that will positively impact every student, regardless of their background or field of study.
What are your main priorities?
Last year, I focused on:
1. Narrowing the award gap
2. Introducing a more inclusive curriculum
3. Enhancing the academic advisor system
I would be certainly working on completion of this priorities in rest of my period, due to the changes in elections this year I can’t really say what I would do if I got re-elected to a certain post. But my general priorities would be:
1. Promoting policies that support student wellbeing and foster a supportive environment from both academic and professional staff.
2. Increasing academic and personal support for all students, with special attention to the needs of home and international students.
3. Expanding graduate-level opportunities to enhance career prospects.
4. Cultivating a more inclusive and student-friendly university culture.
5. Strengthening ties with local communities to offer more volunteering and networking opportunities.
6. Collaborating with fellow officers, both within our university and across others, to safeguard student rights (both home and international) and ensure a strong representation for international students, including advocating for increased funding for universities, increase in student maintenance loan, defending graduate route visa, fight for international students to be entitled for student funding.
Together, let's build the change we all envision.
Reliable, strong, empathetic.
