Studying BSc (Hons) Music Performance and Production (third year)
Why do you want to do this role?
Being a part of this university has been great. From performing at live events to hosting radio shows on the UEL channel at the media building at Docklands Campus. My short time here has been an education. It has also been a priceless experience in which I’ve been taught by the great tutors in the music and music production teams. I cam e in on my third year and I wish I’d got here sooner. This is why I want to play my part as a student officer and stay here. To help the university to continue to function in the most excellent way possible.
Why should students vote for you?
In my role as Student Officer, I intend to play an integral role in making this university and its student union better. An already first-class system can always find room for improvement and this where I hope I can help. As a student myself at UEL I have begun to see how the building functions on a day-to-day basis and have also been affected by these bustling campuses and their libraries, venues, events and excellent technological facilities continue to function side by side with teachers and students and everyone else in between. I’ve been affected positively at every session and tutorial I’ve ever attended. Still, I can see room for improvement in any area a student or any student group wishes to make clear. As a student officer, the concept of wellbeing albeit financially, physically, spiritually and emotionally is paramount to my personal values and I hope to every person who attends this university regardless of role or status. Being a student here has obviously taught me many things, that’s why we are here after all. But what I have learned here at UEL is to understand people. In these times, everyday things can be a challenge. I hope to ease these challenges.
What are your main priorities?
My main priorities for my role as a student officer are to represent and support and develop. To represent students on all educational matters such as funding, inclusion, student development, sustainability and assessment. And support to improve the student union in a professional and mature way such as the student should see fit.
Development is also key to my core values and priorities, there is always space for improving communications between the union and its students and this can be for a myriad of reasons. It is my intention to prioritise representation, support and development for the betterment of the institution.
