Join East London Students' Union (with support from Active Campus) for an unforgettable Holi celebration full of vibrant colours, music, and fun!
The event kicks off with an Active Campus colour run starting at Templars House (last halls building before Gallion's Reach - or use What3Words to find it) at 16:00, where you can run, walk, or dance your way to Docklands Green—just be ready to get covered in bright, colourful powder! Be sure to wear a white shirt to make those colours pop, as our staff and the Res Life Scholars will be ready with coloured powders and water guns to add to the excitement. The run lasts until 16:20.
Next up, get ready for a colour fight celebration at Docklands Green starting at 16:30 where the real fun begins! Join the lively dhol performance from 16:30 - 17:00 and feel the beat as you immerse yourself in a sea of colours. After the performance, the colour fun continues until 18:00, with our DJ spinning tracks for an epic celebration!
Tickets and logistics
Make sure you collect your tickets outside Nook (Docklands Square) between 12:00 and 14:00. You must be a student to sign up and bring your student ID card to gain entry to the event.
Each attendee will receive 2 bags of powder per person included in their ticket.
After all the excitement, students can head to SportsDock for a shower to wash off the paint. Please don't enter university buildings while covered in paint, and please don't wash in the toilets.
Please note that photos and videos will be taken throughout the event.
The celebration continues at the afterparty in the bar from 22:00. The theme is neon, so wear your brightest colours and keep the party going!

What is Holi?
Holi is a traditional Hindu festival that celebrates the arrival of spring, the triumph of good over evil, and the joy of love and friendship. It is often referred to as the "Festival of Colours" because people throw vibrant powders at each other, symbolising the breaking of social barriers and the unity of all. The colour fight represents the joy and freedom of life, as participants celebrate together, filling the air with colour, music, and dance. It’s a time to let go of past grievances, embrace new beginnings, and spread happiness!
Get ready to celebrate the festival of colours like never before! Sign up now and join us for a vibrant, unforgettable Holi experience!
